Instructions for Use
- Unscrew the cap and remove the paddle without touching the agar surfaces.
- Immerse the paddle into the water sample, ensuring both sides are fully wetted.
- Allow excess liquid to drip off without shaking, then return the paddle to the vial and secure the cap.
- Label the vial with relevant information.
- Incubate the vial upright at 25°C to 30°C.
- Examine the bacterial side after 24–48 hours for red colony growth.
- Inspect the yeast/mold side after 48–120 hours for pink colonies (yeast) and fuzzy growth (mold).
- Compare colony densities to the provided chart to estimate contamination levels.
- After analysis, sterilize the slide by adding 10 mL of sodium hypochlorite to the vial and allowing it to sit for at least 30 minutes before disposal.
