- Ship Identification: The name and port of registry of the ship to which the lifeboat belongs are marked on each side of the lifeboat’s bow in block capitals of the Roman alphabet.
- Visibility from Above: The lifeboat is marked with means of identifying the ship and the number of the lifeboat in such a way that these are visible from above, ensuring easy identification during rescue operations.
