MERGAL® MC14 is a concentrated liquid biocide containing 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one (CMIT) and 2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one (MIT). Designed for use in fuel systems, this slimicide reduces bacteria and fungi using standard ASTM E1259 methods.
Appearance: Colorless to light yellow liquid
Odor: Mild, characteristic
Density: 1.25 – 1.33 g/cm³ at 20°C
pH: 2.5 to 4.0
Viscosity: 16 mPa·s
Storage Conditions: Avoid heating above 55°C or freezing

Maintenance Dose: 40 ppm → 1:25,000
Initial/ Shock Dose: 80 ppm → 1:12,500
Severe Contamination: 200 ppm → 1:5,000
Usage Tip: Add MERGAL MC14 before bunkering to ensure thorough mixing. Avoid use in systems where fuel exceeds 60°C or pH is above 9.0. Always recirculate the treated fuel for best results.
