Fomtec AFFF 3% -45 Firefighting Foam for Marine Fire Protection
Fomtec AFFF 3% -45 firefighting foam is a high-performance
AFFF 3% firefighting foam concentrate developed for rapid extinguishing of hydrocarbon fuel fires. The
marine firefighting foam concentrate forms an aqueous film that quickly spreads across the fuel surface, suppressing vapours and preventing re-ignition. The foam provides fast knockdown, strong burnback resistance and reliable fire protection in maritime, offshore and industrial fire-fighting systems.

Application
Fomtec AFFF 3% 45 firefighting foam is designed for extinguishing
Class B hydrocarbon fuel fires. The foam is suitable for use in fixed and mobile foam systems including monitors, foam chambers, sprinklers and portable foam equipment. Typical applications include maritime vessels, offshore platforms, tank farms, refineries, fuel depots and aviation facilities.
Fire performance & Foaming
The
AFFF 3% firefighting foam concentrate produces a stable foam blanket combined with an aqueous film that spreads across the fuel surface. This dual action rapidly suppresses vapours, delivers fast knockdown and provides strong resistance to burnback. The foam offers reliable fire performance across a wide range of foam discharge devices and operating conditions.
Compatibility
The
marine firefighting foam concentrate is compatible with standard foam proportioning systems such as in-line inductors, balanced pressure systems, bladder tanks and pump proportioning equipment. The foam can be used with fresh water and seawater and is compatible with most dry chemical extinguishing agents for combined fire-fighting operations.
Environmental
The formulation is designed to provide effective fire suppression while maintaining controlled environmental performance according to modern fire-fighting standards. Proper handling, storage and disposal procedures should always be followed in accordance with applicable environmental regulations
Storage/Shelf life
Stored in original unbroken packaging Fomtec AFFF 3% -45 will have a long shelf life. Shelf life in excess of 10 years will be found in temperate climates. As with all foams, shelf life will be dependent on storage temperatures and conditions. For storage recommendations and material compatibility please refer to our Fomtec Technical Advices FTA 40 addressing the topic.
Inspection/Testing/Maintenance
Foam concentrate should be inspected and tested regularly as part of routine fire-fighting system maintenance. Periodic foam analysis ensures the AFFF 3% -45 firefighting foam concentrate continues to meet operational specifications and maintains reliable performance in emergency situations.
