Alcohol Resistant Firefighting Foam for Hydrocarbon and Polar Solvent Fires. Fomtec ARC 1x1 NV, a high performance alcohol resistant firefighting foam and AR firefighting foam concentrate, is designed for effective fire suppression involving both hydrocarbon fuels and polar solvents. The foam forms a stable film on hydrocarbons while producing a protective polymer membrane on polar solvent fuels. This dual action ensures fast knockdown, superior burnback resistance and reliable performance in demanding marine and industrial firefighting systems.

Application
Fomtec ARC 1x1 NV alcohol resistant firefighting foam is designed for use on both hydrocarbon fuels such as crude oil, diesel and gasoline, and polar solvent fuels including alcohols, ketones and esters. The foam is widely used in marine engine rooms, cargo decks, offshore platforms, petrochemical facilities, tank terminals and industrial processing plants where versatile fire protection is required.
Fire performance & Foaming
The AR firefighting foam concentrate forms an aqueous film on hydrocarbon fuels, enabling rapid fire knockdown and effective vapour suppression. When applied to polar solvent fuels, the foam generates a polymer membrane that protects the foam blanket from fuel contamination. This ensures stable foam expansion, strong burnback resistance and sustained fire control.
Compatibility
Fomtec ARC 1x1 NV is compatible with standard proportioning and foam application equipment including foam monitors, sprinklers, foam chambers and mobile foam units. The concentrate can typically be proportioned using conventional foam induction and proportioning systems used in marine and industrial installations.
Environmental
The foam formulation is developed to meet modern environmental expectations for firefighting foams used in marine and industrial applications. Controlled composition and advanced surfactant technology help reduce environmental impact while maintaining strong firefighting performance.
Storage/Shelf life
When stored in original sealed containers under recommended conditions, Fomtec ARC 1x1 NV alcohol resistant firefighting foam provides a long service life. Storage areas should be clean, dry and protected from extreme temperatures to maintain product performance.
Inspection/Testing/Maintenance
Regular inspection and testing of foam concentrates are recommended to ensure system reliability. Routine checks of concentrate condition, proportioning equipment and foam discharge devices help maintain optimal performance of the firefighting system. Periodic testing according to recognized marine and industrial standards is recommended.
