The Hammar Lifebuoy Release System is installed on exposed deck areas where automatic deployment of lifebuoys is required as part of the vessel’s emergency preparedness arrangement. Typical installation locations include bridge wings, embarkation areas and external accommodation decks onboard cargo vessels, tankers, offshore vessels and passenger ships.
The system is designed for use together with compatible float free lifebuoy brackets. In emergency flooding situations, the hydrostatic mechanism automatically releases the secured lifebuoy when submerged to the activation depth specified by the manufacturer. This allows the lifebuoy to float free without manual operation.
For procurement teams and technical superintendents, the system provides a standardised solution supporting vessel safety equipment maintenance and replacement planning.
Included in the kit:
- One GRP holder with pre-installed metal holder.
- One ERU (electric remote unit) with cord pre-installed on the metal holder. Cable length 1,5m
- One Release Switch in a protective box to be mounted at the wheelhouse or bridge. Colour: silky grey. IP 66 class. If mounted outside it shall be protected by an outer protective enclosure. Maximum diameter for cable 12mm.
- One connector box in marine grade plastic, IP66 class. Colour: steel grey. Maximum diameter for cable 12mm.
- 20 meters of grey cable 2 x 0,75 mm2, diameter 8mm, other lengths available upon request.
- One manual safety pin in stainless steel
- One pilot line for loading the lifebuoy
- Installation manual, user guide and test of the Lifebuoy Release System document.
