The Francis FSP127 MK5 Aldis signalling lantern is a professional handheld daylight signalling lamp for ship to ship communication using Morse code. Francis supplies the FSP127 for marine applications requiring a dependable visual signalling system independent of the vessel’s normal fixed lighting equipment. The model is designed and type approved for applicable MED and SOLAS daylight signalling requirements.
The aluminium lantern uses a parabolic reflector and tubular shutter operated by a trigger to produce clear visual signals. It can also be used as a spotlight when the signalling trigger and lamp switch are left on. Light reduction and red/green filters allow the operator to adapt the output to the signalling requirement.
