The Respirex GTL ESD Gas-Tight Suit is a Type 1A-ET single-use encapsulating suit designed to protect emergency responders against toxic, corrosive gases, liquids, and solid chemicals. Manufactured from Chemprotex™ 400, a high-performance multi-layer chemical barrier fabric, this suit offers exceptional protection while maintaining lightweight comfort. Its electrostatic dissipative (ESD) construction allows safe use in potentially explosive (ATEX) atmospheres, making it ideal for various hazardous environments.
Material: Chemprotex™ 400 multi-layer chemical barrier fabric
Design: Fully encapsulating suit allowing Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) to be worn inside
Zipper: Gas-tight zip running from side of head to lower thigh, covered by a zip flap with hook & loop fastener
Gloves: Kemblok™ gloves welded to sleeves, supplied with separate antistatic Honeywell® Butoject® outer gloves for mechanical protection
Visor: Large flexible chemically resistant visor for wide field of view
Sleeves: Bat-wing sleeves allow wearer to remove hand from glove to check equipment inside the suit
Support Belt: Adjustable internal support belt for enhanced comfort
Feet: Integral sock feet with conductive pads and outer splash guard legs; for ATEX environments, must be worn with ESD-rated safety footwear (e.g., Hazmax™ FPA ESD)
Exhalation Valves: Two covered valves maintain comfortable working pressure inside the suit
Testing: Internal pressure test to ISO 17491-1:2012 conducted prior to dispatch to confirm gas-tightness
Shelf Life: Seven-year maintenance-free shelf life; maximum shelf life of 10 years
