IMPA:
The Drew Marine Total Hardness Titrets Test (PCN 0378019) is a user-friendly, field-ready kit designed to measure total water hardness—specifically calcium and magnesium ion concentrations—in treated cooling and makeup water systems. This test is essential for detecting seawater contamination and ensuring optimal water treatment performance.
Test Range: 20–200 ppm as CaCO₃
Method: EDTA titration with calmagite indicator
Accuracy: Direct reading from ampoule scale
Kit Contents:
30 pre-measured Titret ampoules
30 valve assemblies with red indicator
1 sample cup (25 mL)
Instruction sheet
Applications: Monitoring hardness in treated cooling water and makeup water
Fill the sample cup to the 25 mL mark with the water sample.
Attach the valve assembly to the ampoule's tapered tip up to the reference line.
Snap the ampoule tip at the score mark.
Immerse the valve tip in the sample and briefly squeeze the bead valve to draw a small amount of sample into the ampoule.
Rock the ampoule to mix; the solution will turn blue.
Continue adding sample incrementally, mixing after each addition, until the solution changes from blue to pink.
Hold the ampoule upright and read the scale at the liquid level to determine total hardness in ppm as CaCO₃.

Safe and Easy: Pre-measured, vacuum-sealed ampoules minimize exposure to reagents.
Portable: Compact design allows for on-site testing without additional equipment.
Accurate: Direct reading from the ampoule ensures precise measurements.
Versatile: Suitable for various marine and industrial water treatment applications.
