IMPA:
Installed between the compressed air cylinder and the demand valve assembly, it ensures stable air supply to the wearer operating in hazardous environments such as engine rooms, cargo spaces or accommodation fire zones. It forms an integral part of approved marine SCBA equipment used for emergency response.
SCBA Application Onboard
The Sabre Sigma2 Pressure Reducing Valve is designed for use within marine Self Contained Breathing Apparatus units carried onboard vessels in accordance with SOLAS fire safety requirements.
SCBA sets are mandatory for firefighting teams operating in engine rooms, cargo pump rooms, enclosed spaces and accommodation fire zones. Within these systems, high pressure air stored in cylinders must be reduced to a safe and usable pressure before reaching the wearer’s demand valve and face mask.
The Sabre Sigma2 Pressure Reducing Valve performs this critical function inside the SCBA assembly.
Pressure Regulation Function
High pressure breathing air cylinders onboard vessels typically store compressed air at significantly elevated pressures. Direct delivery of this pressure would be unsafe and incompatible with breathing apparatus components.
The Sabre Sigma2 Pressure Reducing Valve reduces cylinder pressure to a controlled intermediate level, ensuring:
As an SCBA pressure reducing valve, it supports consistent respiratory performance under emergency conditions.
