The Linethrower 250 (Body and Line ONLY) is a self-contained line-throwing appliance designed for maritime and land use. It consists of a plastic launcher equipped with 250 meters of 4mm diameter line. To operate, it must be fitted with a 9500800 rocket, which is not included in this version. The appliance is typically used for passing a line over distances of up to 250 meters, whether between ships, from ship to shore, or to aid in the rescue of a swimmer in distress. On land, it can be used to pass a line across rivers or ravines. SOLAS vessels are required to carry four units of the complete system. The container and launcher should be replaced after every third set of rockets, approximately every 9 years. When not fitted with the rocket, the Linethrower 250 is classified as a non-hazardous item for transport.
