SLCC-A condensate corrosion inhibitor is a liquid alkaline amine used to control corrosion in condensate return lines and on steam condensing surfaces by traveling and condensing with the steam. SLCC-A inhibitor neutralizes the corrosive effects of carbonic acid formed by carbon dioxide and maintains non-corrosive pH conditions from the point of condensation onward throughout the system.
SLCC-A corrosion inhibitor is used in our standard boiler water treatment programs for low-pressure boiler systems (0-32 bar) and medium-pressure steam propulsion vessels (32-60 bar). It is also used in our ULTRAMARINE℠ boiler water treatment program for high-pressure steam generating systems (60-84 bar).
SLCC-A condensate corrosion inhibitor is available in 25-liter containers (PCN 0011403).
Dosage, Testing and Control
Continuously dose SLCC-A condensate corrosion inhibitor to maintain condensate pH within the specified range. Slug dosing may result in erratic pH conditions and/or triggering of false condensate salinity alarm.
The daily condensate pH test result determines the necessary dosage. For details on the testing procedure, refer to the appropriate control and dosage chart, or contact your local Drew Marine representative.
Feed Points
For low-pressure boiler systems, continuously dose SLCC-A corrosion inhibitor with diluted AMERZINE® corrosion inhibitor or diluted DREWPLEX® OX corrosion inhibitor using a common DREW™ Beta Metering System to the feedwater line downstream of the feedwater recirculation offtake. If there is no feedwater recirculation, dose continuously to the feed pump suction
For medium- and high-pressure boiler systems, continuously dose diluted SLCC-A corrosion inhibitor with diluted AMERZINE corrosion inhibitor or diluted DREWPLEX OX corrosion inhibitor using a common DREW Beta Metering
System to the deaerator storage section or suction side of the feed pump.
