This unit releases the freefloat EPIRB when a ship sinks.

A spring activated knife cuts the release rod at a water depth of 1.5 to 4 meters, allowing the EPIRB to float free.

Expiry date: 2 years after installation.

Comes complete with releasae rod, nut and two plastic washers. SOLAS/IMO approved.

EPIRB (Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon) is used to alert rescue services in case of an emergency. It does this by transmitting a distress frequency signal via satellite and earth stations to the nearest rescue centre.
